Not the best in the world...The shadow is a little bit unnatural looking, but it was the best I could do. :)

Candid Photos: Capturing the moment

These photos aren't perfect...Cuz they were taken with little or no preparation. But they do display bits of my life. :) Enjoy!

This was my sister, I was trying to make her laugh, and she was trying to resist. :) She didn't know I got this picture until later.

These are two of my friends - Kyla and Kam. They were selling snacks to little kids when I snapped this picture. (That little kid is Kam's brother, btw).

And this is my sister Lucy watching a movie - you can see the screen dullness in her eyes.

Movement - Tennis ball/Night scene

1st movement picture - Bouncing tennis ball

I bounced a tennis ball in my house and took a bunch of pictures in rapped succession. I tried this a few times - and this was the best picture. It's actually pretty cool.

2nd movement picture - night scene

I went outside at 10:30 PM, reduced the shutter speed to about 10 seconds, and waited for a car to pass. This is what I got. I would've tried to take more, but my parents wanted me in bed. :)

Still Life - My Desk

This is my desk. Really. This photo was taken around 8:00 PM, and nothing was put there on purpose just for the shot. That's really what my desk looks like.

Portrait and Landscape Assignment: Happy stuff!

Obviously she saw something happy. :)

It's a good portrait because there is nothing distracting. (Other than the happiness).

My sister saw this picture and thought it was a prison.

In reality, it's a road by my house at 7:30 at night. The image was better than this before, but something happened in the upload. Sorry if you can't see it very well.

Experiment in Lighting Project: Indoors

This picture was taken of the flower on my kitchen table around 2:00 in the afternoon. The lighting is nice. (It's my GOOD lighting picture)

And here's my BAD lighting picture.

If you look real close, you can see my sister. (It's pretty horrible, I know). It was taken in our crawlspace under our stairs. I turned off the lights, shut the door, and took a photo. Bask in it's horribleness.

Experiments in Lighting Project: The tree

This is the tree in front of my house - taken at three different times of day. Notice how the mood of the picture changes with the time.

Midterm assignment: Mormon Temple

I took this picture of the Mormon Temple in South Jordon Utah. The color is amazing, in my opinion. I'm glad it was a clear night!

It's awesome because.
1. The background is perfect. (Nothing to distract).
2. Color contrast. (Look at that white with that navy blue sky!)
3. Symmetrical. (Notice how both sides are pretty much identical).

Midterm Assignment: The Flower Pot

This picture was taken on my kitchen counter of a plant I received for my birthday. (I named it Charlie, btw).

It uses multiple areas in photography in the following ways.
1. Rule of thirds. (Need I say more?)
2. Background. (Not over-dominating. Focus is where it needs to be).
3. Color. (Notice how awesome that pot looks!)

Sorry if it looks a little tilted, I couldn't get my camera to get a straight shot...This was the best one.

Midterm Assignment: Along The Shelves

This picture was taken in my front room for the Photography Midterm project.

It displays multiple areas by the following ways.
1. The color is very contrastish. (That's a word now).
2. There are dominate leading lines.
3. The rule of thirds is used. (look at the window in the door).

Viewpoint Assignment: Speed Hump Sign/Lights

These two pictures were taken using the technique of using unusual viewpoints, (More detail below).

If you look at this picture with an open mind, you might see the roof of an airplane as it flies high above the ground. But what it really is...Is the back of the Speed Hump sign in front of my house. (Sorry it's a bit blurry, something happened during the upload that messed with the picture).

And this picture was taken of a roof of a dome in the BYU center in Salt Lake City Utah. I stood and pointed the camera straight up at all the lights, and it turned out pretty well!

Framing Assignment: My Front Door

This picture was taken...Through my front door. (Surprise). :P It was really the only chance I had to take a picture using this technique, but I think it turned out well.

Pattern Assignment: Carpet/Bricks

This picture was taken of my living room carpet. (Please excuse if it looks slightly dirty).

I think it's a pretty cool pattern, but it's not the best photo I've taken. However, it seemed to fit this assignment the most. If you're willing to look at another option, there is this photo as well.

It's brick from my window-well. Be amazed. :)

Bad Background Assignment: Cluttered

It was a little tricky getting my mind to think of ways to capture a "Bad background", but eventually, I did it, and here it is, in all it's ugliness.
This picture was taken in my kitchen.

Background Assignment: The Pen

I've been trying to get this effect for awhile now, and I've finally got it! Behold, the might of the pen.
This photo displays use of good background because all the focus is in the front. While you can make out shapes in the background, they are not overpowering.

This picture was taken in a College classroom while my parents were conversing with the teacher there. I was bored, so I decided to take some pictures, and voila!

These are my brothers and sisters. And are they - see through?

I think these photos display asymmetry because they have balance...By displaying an off-balance appearance.

Morning Fog

This picture was taken in the street right in front of my house. It displays Leading Lines into the mist...And I dunno, I just love fog. Who doesn't? It's so "Mistical". ;)

The Backyard Swing

Taken at approximately 3;30 PM in my backyard. (Displays the Rule of Thirds and Color)
